WhiSKHA Days Holiday Program

Action-packed school holiday day programs for children and young people aged 5–18. Fun excursions, activities and social connections across Melbourne, supported throughout.

About WhiSKHA Days Program

Our WhiSKHA Days program is aimed at children aged 5-18 years with a mild-moderate disability. Participants are able to enjoy and experience a variety of activities, develop skills, interact socially, achieve goals and meet personal challenges in a safe and stimulating environment.

Our program schedule of excursions has been provided as a guide, but will remain flexible according to the needs, abilities and interests of the participants attending on the day.

Drop-off: 8:30am – 9:00am
Excursion departs: 9:00am sharp
Return to site: By 4:00pm
Pick-up: By 4:30pm

Excursions are subject to change depending on conditions on the day.

Program entrance is next to the front door of Y Leisure City at the rear carpark.

Use the rear carpark entrance — not the main Miller Street door. Look for the Y Leisure City signage.

WhiSKHA program selection criteria

  • Ages 5–18

    The program is open to children and young people aged 5 to 18 years with a mild to moderate disability.

  • NDIS funded

    WhiSKHA Days is funded under Community Participation in your NDIS plan. Some activities have additional out-of-pocket costs.

  • Up-to-date medical support plans

    The participant has up to date medical support plans (if applicable).

Activity Days & Bookings

Each day is booked separately, choose the days that suit you.

Kinglake Adventure

Date: Monday 21st September Discover the beauty of forests and waterfalls in Kinglake National Park. Then visit Bollygym Park and the fun off this sensory playground and enjoy lunch with friends after a forest walk. Cost: FREE

Flip Out and Mode Park Kalkallo

Date: Tuesday 22nd September Jump into adventures at Flip Out Indoor playground and then visit Mode Park which has a massive structure with two towers connected by a high rope tunnel and inground trampolines! Cost: $26

Melbourne Zoo

Date: Wednesday 23rd September Adventure awaits at Melbourne Zoo! See lions, tigers, meerkats, lemurs, and elephants up close, snap epic pics, and explore lush habitats in the heart of the city. Cost: FREE

Date: Thursday 24th September Experience the best outdoor mini golf in Melbourne with fun challenges! Then head to the beautiful park to chill out and enjoy a picnic lunch. Cost: $25 for 36 holes

Date: Tuesday 29th September Jump into fun at this indoor playcentre! Then explore 3 huge slides, rope climbing, swing sets and a duck-filled lake – this park has something fun for everyone! Cost: $29

Date: Wednesday 30th September Splash into fun at WaterMarc and experience Tantrum Alley and Pipeline Waterslides, as well as pools to enjoy a swim. Cost: $16.50 for slide & pool pass

Arts & Craft and Movie Day (incursion)

Date: Thursday 1st October Spend the day at Leisure City with a creative activity. Followed by lunch and then curl up to enjoy a movie with the group. Cost: $15

Leisure City and Granite Park

Date: Friday 2nd October Swimming activity day! Enjoy the heated pool at Leisure City, then some hot chips and lunch at Granite Park followed by play on the giant slides. Cost: FREE

What To Bring

Packing list for each day

  • Water bottle & labeled snacks

    A full water bottle and morning snacks. Lunch is not provided - please pack a lunch for your child. Strict NUT-FREE policy.

  • Comfortable clothing

    Closed-toe shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. On water days, bring bathers, a towel and sunscreen.

  • Medication

    Any required medication must be supplied in a Webster-Pak. Inform staff at drop-off of any medication needs.

  • Companion Card (if applicable)

    Bring your Companion Card for free or discounted entry at participating venues, noted on specific activity days.

  • Spending money (optional)

    Small amount of cash or card for optional purchases like souvenirs or tuck shop items.

  • Leave at home

    Valuables, expensive electronics or items that can't be replaced. The Y is not responsible for lost or damaged personal items.

Trained disability support staff throughout every day

All WhiSKHA Days sessions are staffed by trained disability support workers and program leaders experienced in supporting young people with disabilities. Staff are present throughout the entire day — from drop-off through to pick-up — maintaining appropriate participant-to-staff ratios. All staff are police-checked and hold current first aid certifications.

Payment Details

Disability support hourly fees apply; refer to the Service Agreement for details (program runs for 8.5 hours per day).
Daily program fees need to be paid at the time of booking. These costs can vary from program to program based on the activities scheduled.

  • NDIS plan managed

    If you have an NDIS plan, you may be able to utilise the following line items to participate in the WhiSKHA Days program:
    040102013661 line item – $70.23 per hour
    04590012561 – $1.00 per KM if transported via support worker car

  • Refund Policy

    We are unable to provide refunds for non-attendance once a booking has been processed. Please choose your required days of enrolment carefully.

  • Late Pick-Up

    Any person who requires pick-up or drop-off times outside of the Program time can discuss with the Program Coordinator to arrange support for the participant; additional fees apply.
