At the Y, we’re proud to support people of all abilities to get the most out of their NDIS plans. Whether you’re a participant, family member, support coordinator, or plan manager, we’re here to help you understand your options and make the NDIS work for you.
We offer flexible, person-centred supports that focus on your goals, your interests, and your independence. Our team can assist you with:
1:1 Home Supports – personalised help where you live
Support Coordination – finding the right providers with the right services to meet your personal needs
Skill development – learning everyday life skills at your pace
Health and recreation programs – keeping active in ways you enjoy
1: 1 Community Support – joining activities, meeting people, and trying new things
Group programs and social connections – making friends and having fun
Respite Camps – try new experiences and unique adventures
We work closely with you and your support network to make sure your NDIS funding is used in ways that meet your needs and help you reach your goals.
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is going through some important updates. These changes are being introduced gradually to make the scheme fairer, clearer, and easier to use.
What’s new from May 2025? – Funding periods
From 19 May 2025, many new and reassessed NDIS plans will have their budgets provided in three-month funding periods instead of giving the full amount upfront.
What this means for you:
You’ll still be approved for the same total budget in your plan
Your funding will be released in smaller portions every three months
At the start of each period, the next part of your budget will become available
This can help spread your spending evenly across the year and reduce the risk of running out early
Who it applies to:
New plans created after 19 May 2025
Plans that are reassessed after this date
How to prepare:
Work with your Support Coordinator or Plan Manager to plan services in quarterly cycles
Keep track of your spending within each funding period
Update your service agreements if needed to match the new payment timing
If your current plan is active before May 2025 and not due for reassessment, you’ll continue under your existing funding arrangement until your next review.
